New Research Paper in Proceedings B!
LARGE SCALE STUDY PUBLISHED: Novel genetic data for conserving plants in botanic gardens.
A team of 21 experts from The Morton Arboretum, National Tropical Botanical Garden, Chicago Botanic Garden, BGCI Education, Center for Plant Conservation, Brookfield Zoo, Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, Michigan Technological University, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Auburn University and Montgomery Botanical Center published this ground-breaking study, funded through a 3-year National Leadership Grant by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, awarded to Montgomery.
The study shows that the relatedness of species does not always predict how best to conserve them. The paper is open access and freely available here: https://royalsocietypublishing.org/…/full/10…/rspb.2020.0102
